Celebrating All Things TENNESSEE
CMOM’S JURIED POSTER CONTEST
We’re kicking off the Semiquincentennial celebration with a juried student poster contest where kids can creatively show their favorite things about our state, like the state bird, state flower, or a famous – yet lesser-known – Tennessean or their favorite landmark.
All art will be judged on the theme: “What Does Tennessee Mean to You?”
Medium:
- Art must be on 8.5″ x 11″ white drawing paper, in either landscape or portrait orientation. Any artwork that is oversized or undersized will not be eligible.
- Feel free to use your favorite materials, including crayons, markers, paint, ink, pencils, chalk or collage materials.
- No digital drawings will be acceptable.
- Be sure to include your name, contact information and category when you drop off your art at the museum.
- Your art becomes the property of the Children’s Museum of Memphis.
Categories:
- Category 1: Pre-k through 2nd grade
- Category 2: 3rd – 7th grade
Prizes:
- 1st place winner in each category: $100 gift card
- 2nd place winner in each category: $50 gift card
- Honorable mention winners: $25 gift card
Judging:
- Deadline to submit art is Sunday, May 24, 2026
- Finalist’s art will be publicly displayed for judging June 1 – 28, 2026.
- Winners will be notified on July 7, 2026.
