Memphis Artist Series
Whether it is a coloring sheet added to your refrigerator or a canvas on the wall, there is nothing like displaying your child’s masterpiece in your home. But art goes deeper than that. It helps develop creativity, curiosity, critical thinking and self-confidence.
In addition to the multiple art stations in the Art and Innovation Lab, children can learn from local artists from the Mid-South area through our Memphis Artist Series.
Guest artists design a daily in-house project that is staff-driven. However, there are scheduled dates when the artist will be on campus and can interact with, encourage, teach and inspire children as they complete the project together under the watchful eye of the featured artist.
Featured Artist: Morgan Yen Pattison through July 13
Morgan set her goal of being an artist when she was in kindergarten. Her love of color, shapes and creativity comes together in this featured art project. By taking simple shapes and making rubbings, children will learn to bring them together in a unique piece of art. The possibilities are endless – and so is the fun.
The Art and Innovation Lab will have Morgan’s project available daily, but if you’d like to interact with her, she will be at CMOM on select dates to guide children through the project.
In person dates:
- Tuesday, July 1: 1 – 3 p.m.
- Sunday, July 13: 3 – 5 p.m.
