Winter Wonderland

Icy, snowy weather is the forecast for CMOM until January 5. Blistering winds have blown Winter Wonderland into every area of the museum, tossing fun like snow.

Glide across the sock skating rink at Sockefeller Center while listening to wintery tunes. Grab a friend (or make a new one) for a challenging hand-to-hand snowball battle, being careful to dodge the flurries of fluff.

Climb into a life-sized snow globe and strike a picture-perfect pose. Or take your picture making the perfect ski jump off the ramp.

Take a minute to read all the fun facts about snow as you meander through the museum’s wintery décor, pausing only to build a life-size igloo at the snowy background.

Your next stop is at the giant gingerbread house for a fairyland, frosty story time complete with supporting activities. Another feast for the senses is our sensory play activities.

The sights and sounds of winter are everywhere – including Role Play Theater spotlight Nutcracker music and dance props. Don’t be surprised to hear guest musicians strolling through the museum, sharing their talents and familiar holiday tunes.

Take a piece of wonderland home with you when you complete a themed project featured in the Art and Innovation Lab.

Before you leave, remember to drop a note to Santa at the magical letter station.

Be a part of our Winter Wonderland beginning November 30.
