The Links at Galloway
Since opening 22 years ago, The Children’s Museum of Memphis has been a special place where children and their families discover, explore and learn together. Your participation in the Annual Golf Tournament allows us to continue making a difference in the lives of thousands of children and families each year.
The museum’s Annual Golf Tournament began in 2002 and was held at the Memphis Country Club for seven years (2002-2009). In 2010 it was moved to The Links at Galloway Golf Course. This event is run by a volunteer committee and raises almost $50,000 for the museum each year.
The museum is a private, nonprofit, 501(c)3 educational organization. It receives absolutely no government or taxpayer funding. Events like the Golf Tournament are crucial to the museum’s survival - and allow the museum to continue operating its interactive, hands-on exhibits and educational programs.
Now more than ever, families need to enjoy quality time together. Every child deserves a safe place where they can experience the joy of hands-on learning and learn skills they need to be successful in life.
The money raised from the tournament goes to: expanding outreach programs, providing free workshops for teachers, keeping the exhibits operational, subsidizing group visits, paying for underprivileged families to visit the museum, and providing art supplies for programs.
